Genomic analyses of Bifidobacterium describe gene clusters predicted to encode tight-adherence pili, discussed in the literature in relation to intestinal barrier integrity.Reference required
Lactobacilli have been reported to increase mucus secretion, with increased MUC2 gene expression described independently of lactic-acid production.Reference required
Induction of human β-defensin-2 gene expression has been described for certain lactobacilli.Reference required
Lactic-acid bacteria produce short-chain fatty acids, hydrogen peroxide and bacteriocins.Reference required
Bifidobacteria contribute to the fermentation of dietary fibres and complex carbohydrates not digested by human enzymes.Reference required
Literature describing Bifidobacterium and intestinal lipopolysaccharide levels is available on request.Reference required
Strain-specific and finished-product clinical documentation for KapBiome is under development. The 60 billion CFU figure is the declared formulation strength and is not presented as evidence of superior clinical effectiveness.
Cranberry with a six-species Lactobacillus blend, total 10 billion. Intended for nutritional support in women's urinary health under professional guidance.
| Component | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Cranberry | 300 mg |
| Lactobacillus acidophilus | 2 billion |
| Lactobacillus rhamnosus | 2 billion |
| Lactobacillus salivarius | 2 billion |
| Lactiplantibacillus plantarum | 2 billion |
| Lactobacillus reuteri | 1 billion |
| Lacticaseibacillus paracasei | 1 billion |
| Total probiotic count | 10 billion |
Names above follow current pack artwork, which mixes pre- and post-2020 Lactobacillus taxonomy. Under the 2020 reclassification these read Lacticaseibacillus rhamnosus, Ligilactobacillus salivarius and Limosilactobacillus reuteri. Counts are declared as "spores" on artwork; for non-sporulating lactobacilli the correct unit is CFU. Both to be corrected at the next artwork revision.
Cranberry proanthocyanidins have been studied extensively in the context of urinary-tract health.Reference required
Lactobacilli of vaginal and intestinal origin are studied for adherence and colonisation characteristics.Reference required
The formulation combines a botanical component with a multi-species probiotic component; duration of use should follow professional advice and approved product information.
Cranlac is a dietary supplement. It is not a treatment for urinary-tract infection and is not a substitute for antimicrobial therapy where that is indicated.
A multi-component formulation combining a yeast, a probiotic species, an amino acid, a prebiotic fibre and zinc.
| Component | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Saccharomyces boulardii | 1 billion |
| Lactobacillus acidophilus | 120 million |
| Zinc (as zinc sulphate) | 1 mg |
| L-glutamine | 50 mg |
| FOS (fructooligosaccharides) | 50 mg |
Zinc contributes to normal macronutrient metabolism and to the normal function of the immune system, a permitted nutrient-function statement.
L-glutamine is a principal metabolic substrate for enterocytes and has been studied in relation to intestinal barrier integrity.Reference required
Saccharomyces boulardii is a non-pathogenic yeast studied in the dietary management of acute diarrhoea.Reference required
FOS is a fermentable prebiotic fibre described as a substrate for bifidobacteria and lactobacilli.Reference required
L. acidophilus is a lactic-acid-producing species included as the probiotic bacterial component.
Sporcap is a nutraceutical for dietary management under professional supervision. It is not presented as a treatment for diarrhoea or for any gastrointestinal disease.
Isoflavones with calcium, vitamin D3 and a spore-forming probiotic. Positioned solely for peri-menopausal nutritional support under professional guidance.
| Component | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Isoflavones | 60 mg |
| Bacillus coagulans | 120 million |
| Calcium | 250 mg |
| Vitamin D3 | 200 IU (5 mcg) |
Current pack artwork reads "Lactobacillus sporogenes (Bacillus coagulans)". L. sporogenes is an invalid name; Bacillus coagulans is correct and should lead at the next artwork revision.
Calcium and vitamin D3 are needed for the maintenance of normal bones; vitamin D contributes to normal calcium absorption, permitted nutrient-function statements.
Isoflavones are plant-derived compounds described in the literature as having higher relative affinity for oestrogen receptor β than for receptor α.Reference required
Bacillus coagulans is a spore-forming, acid-stable species studied in relation to the biotransformation of isoflavone glycosides to aglycones.Reference required
Literature on isoflavones and lipid parameters is available on request and is not presented as a product claim.Reference required
